Our design–build process
Every project starts with a walk. We meet you at the property, hear how you actually live in the space, and read the grades, the drainage, the light — the things that decide what's possible. It's also a fit check, both ways: nobody signs anything on day one. If we're the right builder for it, you'll know why. If we're not, we'll say so. Come with photos, boards, back-of-napkin sketches — whatever you've got; the walk is where they turn into a real scope.
Before we draw a line, you're in ECG+ — our own app, free, nothing to install. Right after the walk we set up your account, and from that moment your project has one home: reach your project lead with a tap, see every update and photo in one place, and never chase a phone number again. Seamless communication isn't a promise here — it's a setup step.
Our design team draws the whole property to scale — grading, drainage, planting, lighting, structures — so every trade that follows works from the same sheet. Where the county requires engineering, the drawings are stamped. You review the renders until the plan reads like the place you meant. It starts by hand: a concept drawn in watercolour over your survey, so you can see the place before anyone breaks ground.
With renders approved, we take the plans through the civil and city process ourselves — site plans, permits, inspections — so you never stand in a county line. It's unglamorous, and it's exactly where projects usually stall. Which is why we own it. The whole set — boundary survey, site plan, grading, erosion control — is assembled and checked in ECG+ before it goes to the county. Timelines there belong to the county, not to us; what we own is preparation so nothing bounces, and straight answers about where it stands.
The estimate lands as a full scope with real numbers, not a ballpark over the phone. Our trusted subcontractors bid against each other for the work — not against you. The consultation that starts it all is free, and the number you get is one we can actually build. You'll walk the scope with the people who'll actually build it — and adjust until it sits right.
Before a single machine arrives, the stone, pavers, lumber, and plant material are sourced and staged. Materials chosen early hold the schedule and the budget; materials chosen late hold the project hostage. We choose early. You'll see the deliveries land in your project feed — pallets on the ground before the first machine, which is exactly the point.

Jordan and his tireless team recently took a large backyard originally planted in the fifties that had fallen apart and transformed the space into the landscaped backyard of our dreams. We now look out on charming flagstone pathways, elegant lighting and a huge variety of plants that will hold up year after year. Most of our work is full design–build, but strong standalone hardscape — a wall, a terrace, a drive — is craft we take seriously; there's a dry-laid garden wall in the work above.
